The Research centers associated with the consortium, CBQF, CBG, CQ and CITAB (see brief description below) ensure the ideal conditions for conducting research, bringing together a wide range of skills, and research infrastructures.
Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF), has the status of Associate Laboratory, and is rated as Excellent by the FCT. Its mission is to develop and disseminate knowledge in frontier areas of health and welfare in two main lines of research: Safer, healthier, more nutritious and more competitive food and Innovative approach to environment and sustainability challenges.
Center for Genomics and Biotechnology (CGB) UTAD rated Excellent by the FCT is integrated into the Associate Laboratory IBB developing R&D activities in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biomaterials, Biomedical and Agricultural Sciences.
The Chemistry Center (CQ-UTAD), rated Very Good by the FCT aims to develop policies for R&D and innovation in chemistry, chemical education, technology transfer, consultancy and services.
The Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences (CITAB) UTAD rated Very Good is organized in the research areas of sustainable agrifood chains, ecointegrity and biosystems.
